Barry Feldman has been designing and building furniture since graduating from the Royal College of Art in 1977. His contemporary, modern, beautifully simple and practical designs have been featured in several publications over the years including ‘The Sunday Times Supplement’, ‘House and Garden’, ‘Italian Vogue’, ‘Good House Keeping’ and ‘Beautiful Homes’.
A diverse portfolio of original work has included designing and making hundreds of products for a varied client base. Work in Commercial design consultancy as well as private homes has produced a vast range of wooden furniture pieces consisting of tables, chairs, beds, garden furniture, kitchens, lighting, office furniture, toys, accessories and much more.
Barry specializes in innovative space-saving design, with several multi-functional furniture items that fold, stack or are otherwise dynamic. A keen interest in Architecture and sustainable energy has also seen Barry design and develop prototype wind generators and solar ovens.
In recent years Barry has additionally worked as a lecturer in Furniture Design and making. The challenge of nurturing new design talent and helping students to achieve good design solutions is one that he enjoys thoroughly.
